The Johnson Family Reunion is comprised of the descendants of Jessie J. Johnson, Sr. (born 1846 in French Camp, MS) and Queenie Jordan Johnson (born 1861 in French Camp, MS). Jessie and Queenie were married on June 1, 1877. They lived and died in Lexington, Mississippi – they’re both buried in Treadwell Grove Cemetery, Lexington.
Jessie and Queenie Johnson had 11 children: Rev. James Annais Johnson (spouses – Vidella Davenport, Abbie Davenport); William Henry Leslie Johnson (spouse – Nami); Rosetta Ruthie Johnson (spouses – Charlie Clifford Anthony, John Lane); Joseph Thomas Johnson (spouses – Nannie Cobbins, Ruby Griffin, Daisy Davenport); Mattie Nina Johnson (spouse – Jessie Liston); Abrinthe Carry Lee Johnson (spouse – Eddie Jointer); Jesse J. Johnson, Jr. (spouse – Eula Burgess); Gustave Johnson; Danzy Golena Johnson (spouse – Mr. Rucker); Lucy Bell Johnson (spouse – Henry Smith); Ida Ethel Johnson (spouse – Henry Smith, Jr.). Most of the family members who currently attend this reunion, are the descendants of Jessie & Queenie Johnson’s daughter Rosetta Ruthie Johnson, and Rosetta’s husband Charlie Clifford Anthony.
Rosetta and Charlie had 12 children: Daisy Anthony (spouse – Levi Thompson); Queenie Mae Anthony (spouse – Eugene McNutt, Jr.); Elnora Johnson (spouses – John William Jordan, Frank Sims); Jessie Vera Anthony (spouse – Bootes Clark); Monroe Anthony (spouse – Lela); Joseph Lincoln Anthony; Clifford Anthony; Samuel Anthony (spouse – Annie Lee Cole); Mattie Anthony (spouse – Jessie C. Norwood); Lee Henry Anthony, Sr (spouses – Andrew Mae Thompson, Mary Lee Washington, Doris Peters); Esther Anthony (spouse – Ben Broadnax, Jr.); Dora Anthony (spouse – Lozy Archer).
